Privacy Policy

This policy covers mapscalemedia.com and explains what we collect when you use the site, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We have tried to write it in plain English rather than legal boilerplate.

Who we are

MapScale Media is a business automation agency. For questions about this policy or about data we hold, contact hello@mapscalemedia.com.

What we collect

When you submit the contact form, we store what you entered:

• Your name and email address, which are required
• What you do, if you tell us
• Your description of your operational bottleneck
• Which automation areas you selected
• Your budget range, if you selected one
• How you heard about us, if you tell us

Alongside that submission we also record a small amount of technical information:

• The country your request came from, as reported by our hosting provider
• Your browser's user agent string
• A one-way salted hash of your IP address, used only to rate-limit spam. We do not store the IP address itself, and the hash cannot be reversed back into one.

If you book a call, that booking is handled by Calendly under their own privacy policy, not this one.

Why we collect it

We use your contact details and answers for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if you become a client, to deliver the work. The technical information exists to keep the form usable and to stop automated abuse. We do not use any of it for advertising or profiling, and we do not sell or rent it to anyone.

If you are in the UK or EU, our lawful basis is legitimate interest in responding to an enquiry you chose to send us.

Analytics and cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how many people visit, which pages they read, and whether the site is doing its job. Google Analytics sets cookies in your browser so it can recognise a returning visit and avoid counting you twice. These are analytics cookies, not advertising ones.

We do not run advertising, remarketing or social pixels on this site, and we do not sell or share this data with anyone. Google processes it as described in their privacy policy.

If you would rather not be counted, you have a few options: block cookies for this site in your browser settings, browse in a private window, or install Google's official opt-out browser add-on, which switches Google Analytics off across every site you visit. Blocking these cookies does not break anything here.

The one-time notice you saw on arrival is stored in your browser's local storage so it does not reappear on later visits. Clearing your browser data will bring it back.

Where your data is stored

Form submissions are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure, and are accessible only to MapScale Media. We may also receive a copy of your submission by email so we can reply to you. We keep enquiry data for as long as we might reasonably still be in conversation with you, and delete it on request.

Your rights

Wherever you are, you can ask us to show you what we hold about you, correct it, or delete it. If you are covered by the UK GDPR or EU GDPR you additionally have the right to object to processing, to request portability of your data, and to complain to your data protection authority. If you are a California resident, the CCPA gives you the right to know what we have collected and to request deletion, and confirms that we do not sell personal information.

To exercise any of these, email hello@mapscalemedia.com. We will respond within 30 days and will not charge you or treat you differently for asking.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your information we will update this page and change the date at the top. Material changes will be described here rather than made quietly.
